Add a new family member to the family tree

Learn how to add a new family member to your family tree.

1. Navigate to the Family Tree and click on the + button located in the left hand corner.

2. If the person already has a profile on the platform, type their name in the search field and they will pop up, then select them. If they don't have a profile on the platform yet, the menu gives you two options. You will select "+ Family tree"

If you're adding someone who doesn't use the platform yet, or never will, and you want them in both the tree and directory, see: Add a new profile-only member to both the family tree and member directory.

 

3. Select add member.

4. You now must add the parents or spouse to ensure the person is correctly placed on the tree. You can also add a photo and a birthdate. Then, click save.  If you only created an entry on the tree, you are finished.

5. If you added the family member to a directory as well, it is time to decide which spaces your profile will be part of. Click on the hyperlinked name and the view user icon.
